Community Paint Day for the Mercer Street Mural

 —  —

Dick Copeland Town Square , 850 Mercer Street

Help paint the beautiful Mercer Street mural! Designed by Ellen Elmes, this work of art honors & celebrates the vibrant history of our beloved Mercer Street. The talented Lacey Vilandry will lead the painting. Creatively-inclined people in the area are invited to come help paint the mural; anyone aged 5th grade & over that has a steady hand and can paint inside the lines is invited to help paint the artwork on fabric sections of an overall 12’H x 20’W mural design. The fabric pieces, once painted, will be glued with an acrylic gel permanently to the wall this summer. Don't feel creatively inclined; that's ok! Come watch, chat about downtown and enjoy! This program is presented by The RiffRaff Arts Collective, with financial assistance from the WV Division of Culture & History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.
