FILM SCREENINGS & COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

We Need to Talk community conversations are film screenings featuring original music videos and docushorts by local artists, followed by meaningful dialogue. These gatherings provide a space to share stories, connect, and reflect, guided by trauma-informed, expert facilitators. Some sessions also include hands-on activities to deepen engagement and inspire action.

📅 New dates will be announced soon! Stay tuned to this page for upcoming conversations and ways to get involved.

🎶This event will showcase the compelling story of "Johnny," a song by Derian Blane that takes us on a journey through intense emotions, introspection, and the realities of sexual assault. It's time to break the silence and tackle the difficult conversations that We Need To Talk about. No matter your age, background, or experience, everyone encounters moments of vulnerability and uncertainty.

🖌️ Emotion Facilitator and Grief Catalyst Shannon Shine will guide us through a creative writing and art exercise designed to foster connection and empower us to share our experiences. By illuminating this often-overlooked topic, we can create a supportive community where healing and understanding flourish.

☕️We warmly invite you to join us at the Dream Bean Coffeehouse, where we'll provide refreshments and an inviting atmosphere. Together, we can open pathways to healing and remind each other that we are never alone. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a meaningful conversation and a shared journey toward hope and healing. We look forward to seeing you there!

🗣️ We need to Talk is a movement using music videos and docushorts to build bridges and catalyze community healing. RiffRaff Arts Collective is creating sweeping, cinematic music videos featuring original music by artists within our community that have written songs about issues they are passionate about, or ways they see the world that they wish the community could open their hearts to. We are using these videos to stoke community dialogue, build relationships, and cultivate a culture of listening. The project aims to empower community members to tell their stories and raise their voices. Featured songs include themes of change and empowerment, and docu-shorts explore issues that inspired their creation.
